TRICKY TREES

A dual-layered nickname that combines the club’s location with their tactical reputation. The "Trees" refers to the iconic Sherwood Forest oak on their crest and their stadium’s proximity to the historic woodland.  The "Tricky" prefix was popularized during the legendary Brian Clough era in the 1970s. It described the team’s deceptive, skillful, and "tricky" style of play that saw them rise from obscurity to win back-to-back European Cups.
