TOFFEES

In the 1800s, Molly Bushell owned a shop that sold "Everton Toffee" (a hard, brittle candy). However, when the club moved to Goodison Park, Mother Noblett opened a shop right next to the ground. She invented Everton Mints—a softer toffee with a peppermint center and black-and-white stripes to mimic the team's colors at the time. To settle the rivalry, Mother Noblett was given permission to distribute her mints inside the stadium, a tradition that survives today with the "Toffee Lady" throwing mints into the crowd before kickoff.
