THE REDS

A psychological rebrand by legendary manager Bill Shankly in 1964. Before this, the team wore white shorts and white socks with their red jerseys. Shankly wanted his players to look "seven feet tall" and physically overwhelming. He famously asked player Ian St John to model an all-red kit, decided it looked "blood-red" and "powerful," and ordered the switch immediately.
